For Ipad Owners
YOURLINK, a new app, especially for people living in the Orange district, was launched recently and is now ready to be downloaded through the iTunes App Store to keep everybody up to date with community services including Carewest, Orange City Council, U3A and Leading Edge. There are many more coming on line regularly and is an easy way to keep in touch with family and friends. A lot better than Facebook. Demonstrations will take place on Open Day at the Senior Citizens Centre.
After downloading the app, create your profile, which is easy to do, and link to the services and interests in our local area and receive updates. The community list is increasing every day. Search the community and event noticeboard for more ways to connect to activities in Orange, share any notice you receive with a family member or friend. to link your family or friend to the app, you will need your password for the iPad, and their email addresses. For further information see the website www.yourlink.com.au. Rick Hollingworth and his tam are working as fast as they can to prepare an app for other tablets which hopefully will be available in the first half of the year.
These are not only a record of your membership, they are an important tool to identifying members. As not many of our members attend a multiple of classes, it is not always easy to identify them in another situation, so we urge everybody to wear their badge when at U3A functions.
On the back of the bad is a medical form, which should be completed just in case you have a fall and we need to call the ambulance. In an emergency we cannot wait to find it in your purse or pocket. We have only had a couple of cases where the ambulance had to be call, but found it very necessary to locate personal information very quickly.
